Datuk Rashidah Mohd Sies is currently attached to the Ministry of Finance as Under-Secretary of the Government Investment Companies Division, a position she has held since 1 April 2018. She was appointed to the Board of Directors of UDA Holdings on 15 October 2018. She brings on board a wealth of knowledge and experience, being at the forefront of issues pertaining to investment, finance, economic policies, federal budgeting, and financial legislation and regulation, among others.
Datuk Rashidah has served the Ministry of Finance for more than 29 years, with her first appointment as Assistant Secretary, Finance Division (Investment) in August 1989. She then moved to the Finance Division (Privatisation) in 1998. Rising through the ranks, she was promoted to the post of Principal Assistant Secretary of Investment, MoF (Inc.) and Privatisation Division in 2003. She later became the Head of Commercial Unit, Government Investment Companies Division in 2009, and assumed the post of Deputy Under-Secretary of the same division in 2016.
She obtained a Master of Business Administration from US International University California, following a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Finance) from Idaho State University, USA. She also holds a Diploma in Public Management from the National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN).
Datuk Rashidah also has broad experience as Director in a variety of companies, namely, Piramid Pertama Sdn Bhd, MKD Signature Sdn Bhd, MKD Sejahtera Sdn Bhd, Bandar Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Aset Tanah Nasional Berhad, Johor Port Berhad, Perbadanan Nasional Berhad (PNS) and Global Maritime Ventures Berhad.
